Design Tips for Hospitality Spaces

Marie Soliman Designing a successful hotel involves several crucial considerations:

Location: The location is one of the most important considerations while designing a hotel. The location of the hotel can have a considerable impact on its success, not only from an operational standpoint, but also from an aesthetic and style standpoint. The essence and sense of setting should be at the heart of any hotel project in order to maximise the visitor experience.

Functionality: Another key factor to consider while constructing a hotel is functionality. The hotel should be designed so that guests may easily explore inside. Rooms, lounges, bars, restaurants, conference rooms, wellness centres, and other facilities should be easily accessible and established for optimal space utilisation.

Construction Materials: Selecting the right construction materials is also crucial when designing a hotel. The materials used in the construction of a hotel should be durable, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing. High-quality materials ensure that the hotel lasts for a long time and reduces the need for frequent maintenance. Additionally, sustainable materials are good for the environment, and hotels that use them are often viewed positively by guests.

Aesthetics: Aesthetics can have a significant impact on how guests perceive the hotel, first impressions last long and we have to think of the sense of arrival. The hotel should be designed in a way that is visually appealing and reflects the local culture or theme. The interior design of the hotel should be consistent with the overall theme and should create a comfortable and inviting environment for guests.

Guest Comfort: Guest Comfort is a major factor when designing a hotel. The hotel should be designed to create a relaxing and comfortable environment for guests. The rooms should be spacious/ multifunctional to different age groups and different lifestyles, well-lit, and well-ventilated. The bedding and furniture should be comfortable and made of high-quality materials. The hotel should also have amenities that are essential for guest comforts, such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and room service.

Safety and Security: The hotel should be designed in such a way that it is secure and safe for guests. The hotel should have adequate fire safety measures in place, such as smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. The hotel should also have a security system in place to ensure that guests are safe from potential threats.

Designing a hotel that encompasses these elements creates a space that is both functional and visually captivating, leaving a lasting impression on guests.

In conclusion, the Conrad London project at St. James stands as a remarkable achievement for Bergman Design House and Liang & Eimil. The transformation of the suites brought back the hotel’s former glory while setting new standards of luxury and elegance. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant city of London, the design showcased a perfect blend of creativity and functionality. The successful collaboration with Liang & Eimil furniture further amplified the project’s excellence. With each new project, Bergman Design House continues to make waves in London’s luxury interior and architectural design market.

“Design is about shaping moments that change people for the better. This mystique arises when we immerse ourselves in their needs and ambitions and transform these into spaces of inspiration and belonging.”
